“I think that when Maria says “technique doesn’t exist” she is saying that in order to conquer the instrument you have to find a way. This way will be constantly changing so you cannot call this process a technique. I don’t think she means you don’t have to sweat over a piece, but the approach should always be custom made to the difficulty of the moment.”
